일반대학원은 건축계획, 이론, 설계 등 건축학 분야에 특화된 심화교육과 연구가 이루어진다.
석사과정은 공통과목(6학점 이상), 필수과목(9학점 이상), 연구과제(3학점)으로 총 24학점 이상 이수해야 한다.
직전학기 직전 학기 학사학위 소지자 또는 법령에 따라 이와 같은 수준 이상의 학력이 있다고 인정된 자는 석사과정에 지원할 수 있다.
매년 5월과 11월 중에 모집하며, 충북대학교 대학원 입학정보 홈페이지(https://ipsi.chungbuk.ac.kr/gra.do)나 진학어플라이(www.jinhakapply.com)를 통해 지원할 수있다.

석사학위논문 작성을 위해 국내 학회지 논문 게재 1편 또는 국외 학술발표대회 1건 발표가 필수조건이다.

산업대학원은 4개 학과, 18개 전공분야에 대한 교육과 연구가 이루어지며, 건축학과는 산업대학원 건설공학과에 소속되어 있다. 산업대학원 과정은 현업 종사자의 전문성 향상을 위한 교육과정으로 주로 야간에 수업이 이루어진다.
